God Squad

God Squad is for student’s grades 4 th -6 th grade. We meet every Sunday night from 6pm-8pm. The first Sunday of every month, we meet at Joe’s Gym in Clarion, Pa (near the YMCA) for a night full of games, fellowship, and snack. The remaining Sunday’s we meet in the upstairs library at Trinity Point Church of God in Clarion, PA for lessons, games, fellowship, and snack. We average around 20 kids we have had 30 kids on some nights! We are a very welcoming and loving group and our kids attend a wide
variety of Clarion County schools- AC Valley, Clarion, CL, Keystone, North Clarion, Union, Redbank and Homeschooled. The teacher is Kylee Callander. The helpers are Tiana Vogel, Caleb Wilson, Kim Callander, Jill Henry, Wendy Ferguson, and Luanne Castner. This fall and winter, we have been studying the Books of the Bible. We are learning the books in order with skits and hand motions. The goal is to learn the importance of God’s Word. This spring we are going to be focusing on an Attitude of Gratitude and Being Plugged In. As Scripture says in 1 Timothy
4:12 the goal for God Squad is that these kids would “Not let anyone look down on them because they are young, but to set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” Some events we have done in the past are Fall-O- Ween Jesus Fall Festival, Trunk-Or- Treat, Live Nativity, Packing Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, Ice Skating in Pittsburgh, and Sled Riding. Three years ago, when I started working with God Squad my prayer was that this group would
grow in strength and numbers. We started out with 8 to 10 kids. Today we average around 20 kids! God is surely blessing and moving this squad! A few weeks back the convention I was at, the speaker spoke on who is in your squad. The speaker shared how a squad is the people who you walk with in life. The people that have your back. I am blessed to have my 30+ monsters who are wild, crazy, sweet, loving and never phase me. They do truly have each other’s backs and support one another. As the teacher, I Kylee, absolutely love supporting the kids on the ballfield or court, at the pool, scouts, or any activity that they take part in. I have been blessed with the opportunity to even baptism one of
the students. I truly want to invest in these children because they are not the future of the church. They are the church!
